About This Property

The oldest structure  in downtown, the Benson House was  built in 1881 and withstood the flood of  1894. Flood waters rose in the home and  the children had to escape through the  windows. The piano floated around the living room. Kate Benson, for whom one  of Uvalde’s elementary schools is named,  grew up here. For many years the house  served as the office for Crawford and  Hughes attorneys who restored it to its  1889 appearance.

The building has 5 offices, reception and lobby space, a small kitchen and shady outdoor space.
