About This Property

Originally the location of  Brumfield’s Garage, by 1935, Frank Speir  was selling Firestone tires and Gulf gasoline in the front portion while auto repair was  done in the back. In 1948, the building was  the home of Speir Brothers’ Walgreen drug  store. The drug store included a spacious  soda fountain and lunch counter. In 1958 it became Uvalde Rexall Drugs. Mornings found downtown business owners enjoying  a cup of coffee at the lunch counter and  afternoons the soda fountain was busy serving  local children after school treats.
