The Fisk Building is on of Amarillo's finest high-rise buildings from the oil-boom years of mid-1920's. Fisk was the president of the Amarillo Bank and Trust Company. The First National Bank occupied the corner space in this building from 1935 to 1951 until Zales Jewelers moved in. An eleven-story, steel-frame office building in a three-part vertical composition with eclectic ornamentation derived from a variety of English sources. The building is clad in red brick laid up in American stretcher bond with Terra cotta ornamental trim, and at the top, you can see the statues that are blue. Designed by Architect Guy Carlander, who was one of the premier architect of early Amarillo. He had designed First Baptist Church at 12th avenue and Tyler, as well as Llano Cemetery. The Fisk Building was originally built to house doctors and dentists. In 2011 the building became a 107 room Courtyard by Marriott hotel. In 2013 Center City of Amarillo helped dedicate the building with a Texas Historical Marker and its designation on the National Register of Historical places.
