About This Property

An outstanding example of classicism, the Royston Nave Memorial Building was designed by prominent San Antonio architects Ayres & Ayres. Emma McFaddin Nave commissioned the structure to house the paintings of her husband, noted regional artist  Royston Nave, who died in 1931. The Victoria Library, funded by the Bronte Club, also used the building.  In 1976, the art museum gained exclusive  use of the building in order to showcase Nave's work and visiting exhibitions.
