About This Property

This was formerly the location of the Bowden building. Now it is home to our Roy Orbison mural.

The former building standing here was built between 1912 & 1920 according to the Sanborn maps. In 1920, the Sanborn map reveals there was an Auto Sales business in the building. Our records show that McPherson Hardware Co. was in the building from 1923 - 1940 prior to them moving their company to 1417 Main. Lisenbee Furniture, Roberta's Record Shop, Oliver Bros., A.D. Gugenheim Co., and Bowden's were also occupants of the building that once stood here.
