About This Property

Uvalde’s Getty Street School was on this block. It was torn down in 1943. On December 1, 1941, W. B. McFatter opened a Firestone dealership. In 1950, he built this Mid-Century Modern building which was used for more than selling tires. The station also sold gasoline, lubricated and washed vehicles and replaced glass.
