About This Property

Heralded as “Uvalde’s  newest and most modern store” Rowland’s  opened in May of 1964 in celebration of their 50th year in business. John Rowland & Sons  clothing store was started in 1914 in Del  Rio and the Uvalde store was located near  the Kincaid Hotel for 25 years. Rowland’s  was instrumental in promoting the wool and 
mohair industry and developed a summer-weight  fabric for suits called Tex-Air that  was a blend of half wool and half mohair.  Since 1980 Julian’s has been in this building.
