About This Property

The Uvalde Volunteer  Fire Department was organized in 1892  with the City Hose Company, Weymiller  Hose Company and Beaumont Hook  and Ladder Company manning the fire  carts. The first motorized fire truck was purchased in 1922 and housed in a building  on North Getty Street. In 1924 the current  building with living quarters upstairs was  built. It was expanded in the 1960’s. The  shed in the back is the remains of the 
Horner Ford Shop.
