About This Property

The Uvalde Street  Railroad started service in 1909. There was a  street car barn on this site. The railway tracks ran around the plazas and then up High Street  to the train depot in Sansom now called North  Uvalde. This location was also the spot of  the officer’s club for Garner Field during  WWII. In 1944, Dr. Dean Dimmitt came 
to Uvalde after five years in the Army. He  originally had his office in the Doughty  building, but constructed this building  around 1949.
