108 W North St 

 The 2-story brick Uvalde Grand Opera House, was constructed in 1891 in the shape of a large rectangular block measuring approximately 50 feet x 85 feet and over 45 feet in height. Accenting the Northwest chamfered corner of the building is a rounded corner turret which rises from the second floor and is crowned by a conical roof. A number of building details received their stylistic inspiration from the Richardsonian Romanesque.  The lower floor was originally conceived as two commercial spaces. Merchandise, grocery, drug and cafe establishments have occupied the lower floors with the resultant changes until 1941 when Morrison Co. modified the area into one commercial space. Ceiling height is 14 feet. The secord level remains as theatre and offices although it has been vacant for years. Running through the two floors are cast iron columns for support.
