About This Property

Dr. T. P. Roberts  opened his general store on the plaza at  121-123 N. West St. in 1896. This area was  used as a wagon yard for customers coming  in from the country to shop. The dry goods  business was discontinued in 1935. In  1952, this store was built by Roberts’ son,  J. R. Roberts and was called Roberts Red  and White store. The building had the name Roberts spelled in concrete letters at the top  of the façade.
