110 N Main St 

This property is located at 110 N. Main Street in downtown Temple, Texas near the beautiful historical  District. It features close proximity to Scott and White and Santa Fe Hospitals and the industrial Park area. 
It is also walking distance to many downtown businesses and quaint restaurants including the Public Library, 
Municipal Building, Police station, Fire station, and city, state and federal offices.
Lot 3, Block 5 in the original town of Temple was on the town’s northern boundary, donated in 1881 by The Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railroad with stipulation that a church be located there. A small church was built, replaced in 1895 with a larger facility that became known as the First Baptist Church. In 1899, its wood frame parsonage was constructed nearby at 110 North Main. As the church grew, in 1911 the parsonage structure was moved to a new address. A second Sunday School Annex was constructed there on North Main in 1930, and a new, larger church was built next door. The two story Annex, 25 feet wide by 110 feet deep, shared a wall with the building owned by Thomas Fletcher, whose Montgomery Ward’s retail tenant insisted the Annex be designed with a storefront to look commercial rather than ecumenical. The Church complied, renting the first 50 feet of ground floor space to J.F. Crouch Typewriting Company, while reserving the back 60 feet and upstairs for Church use. Other tenants followed. In 1938, a fire destroyed the 1930 Church structure and its adjoining, 1913 Annex, but the separate Annex at 110 N. Main remained intact.
When the Church was rebuilt on Barton and Calhoun Streets, it sold its previous site to Scott and White. Since 
that time the Main Street building has been home to numerous ventures, many of them artistic, including Brown House Interior Design in the late Sixties, Comal Cottons in the Seventies, Temple Floral from 1980 2000 and Rynearson’s Glass Blowing Studio beginning in 2000. Along the way, the upstairs was renovated as 
living space.
