Why Sealy?

With a heart and spirit as big as Texas, our community comes together to uphold, celebrate and inspire one another professionally, socially and spiritually.  Our downtown businesses thrive on both local support and tourism.   Sealy is nestled at the intersections of Interstate 10, U.S. Highway 90, Texas Highway 36, and main lines for the BNSF Railroad and the Union Pacific Railroad, and is the economic hub of Austin County and the largest city in Austin County. Our prime location allows quick access to major metropolitan areas and key transportation corridors while providing a relaxing, semi-rural atmosphere for you and your family.

Texas’ rich history started here in the early 1820's with the original Mexican land grant to Moses Austin, which was settled by the “Old Three Hundred” under the leadership of Moses’ son, Stephen F. Austin. Nearly 60 years later, Sealy was founded on part of that original land grant. We are a historic railroad and agricultural town, and have a growing economy including manufacturing and distribution.  Our housing developments are booming at convenient access points around town, and we are paving the ways for your business to be welcomed and prosper.  Sealy's Main Street Program has the greatest team of board members who are inspired, motivated and full of creative ideas to help your business stand out and rise to stardom in our downtown!

If you are looking to start or relocate a business, Sealy is for you. We encourage you to visit the Sealy Economic Development Corporation’s website (opens external link in new window) and visit with the Main Street Manager, Chelsea Humes and the EDC’s executive director, Kimbra Hill.  Find out what Sealy has to offer!

We look forward to partnering with you as you experience economic growth and vitality in our great community!
