This is one of the older buildings in downtown buildings in Pearsall dating from before 1900. It was built as a dry goods and grocery store and has served that same purpose over the years. Community members remember it in the 1950s and 1960s as George Love's L&M Dept store, Liberman's Shoe Store and Coker's Grocery Store. On the backside along Colorado Street there was a wooden building that was a boot factory for Frank Rodriguez who came to Pearsall from Mexico after the revolution. People are said to have come from all over to buy boots from him. The factory burned in the 1950s and was not rebuilt.
