Historic name: Lamar County Echo/Stone Title Company building (built 1916)

About This Property


The building survived the Paris Fire of 1916, and in 1920 was called 13 & 15 North 20th Street. It was an auto repair and sales business. By 1921, still called 13 & 15, it housed the Hunter Furniture Company. By about 1925 the weekly newspaper and print shop, Lamar County Echo, resided on the first floor. It was called the Marshall Building, and the upstairs was occupied by four offices. 

In 1950 the address was 31 & 33 First Northwest, with the Echo operation still on the first floor. The second floor was labeled #35 First Northwest, and held a lodge. Teen Town of Paris later occupied that space, then Herman McCoin had his photo business there.
