Designed by Wees, is the  R.F. Scott Building. After fire of 1916 it was rebuilt and housed Burton & Peel Dry Goods; then manager Arthur Caddel placed his name on it after purchase; then he sold out to Sears, which was in the building to the early 1970s.
It is one of the earliest Gothic Revival commercial structures in Texas. Its intricate arched windows, crenellated parapet, and 70-foot gargoyle-protected tower stand out like a cathedral on the northeast corner of the downtown Plaza. Department stores such as Burton-Peel, the Arthur Caddel Co., and Sears, Roebuck and Co. operated from the building for more than sixty years. The Scott Building is a contributing member to the Paris, Texas Downtown Commercial Historic District, which was established in 1985, and it has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1988.After being vacant for some time, it is now being renovated and repurposed as an event center.
