About This Property

Born in Smith Station, Alabama in 1850, Dr. John C. N Smith attended Oxford University in Mississippi and then dentistry school in Baltimore. In 1917, after the purchasing the property, the Smith family razed the existing building and constructed the building that stands there today. All the original flooring remains, including several varieties of red oak and cedar.
