A two-story rectangular house with central dog trot was constructed here in 1886 by Mansfield contractor William Bratton for Ebenezer and Hannah Bratton Chorn. It was sold in 1919 to Anna Patterson Guest, at which time the house was remodeled, including the addition Mansfield, of the front porches. Mrs. Guest owned a large farm southeast of and maintained this residence near the school and church to provide a place for her family to stay in inclement weather. Mrs. Guest’s family kept the house until 1940. The front wing of the house appears to have been added in the 1890's. 

The house has been remodeled from its original appearance.
