This house is a front‐gabled bungalow dated 1925, but was probably constructed in the mid- to late-1930s. The property was once part of the lot of the J.C. McCaleb House next door, described in the deed records as a “The South 50 feet of Lot 14, Block 4....” 

The house may have been a rental property or possibly a home for relatives of the McCalebs. This simple folk house was suited to the narrow space between the larger McCaleb House and the old house at 105 N. 2nd Avenue. The house reflects the influence of similarly shaped Craftsman style houses without Craftsman detailing. 

This house is an officially recognized historic resource of the City of Mansfield.
