Linden, located in northeast Texas, is a new Texas Main Street City dedicated to the preservation of its unique architecture and the revitalization of its historic core. At the heart of downtown is the recently restored Cass County Courthouse constructed in 1861 which is the only continuously functioning antebellum courthouse in the state. It is surrounded by several blocks of historically significant commercial buildings that range in style from the 19th century to the 1950s.
Known as Music City Texas, Linden is the hometown of several world-famous musicians including T-Bone Walker and Scott Joplin. This love of music is evident today with two local music venues. One of these venues, The Texas Music Barn, is located on the edge of the downtown district. Linden has also been home to the Wildflower Trails festival for over 45 years. Each spring the city celebrates the arrival of the wildflowers with an art show, concerts, and food at the heart of downtown.
Linden has that charming, hometown feel that many cities strive for and passionate people that love their community.
