Why Levelland?

Levelland, Texas is a vibrant community of hardworking people on the south plains of northwest Texas.  Located in the heart of the 5-state region comprised of Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas and Oklahoma, the community is blessed with natural resources that drive a thriving economy dominated by agriculture and energy production.  Agriculture products include grain, grapes/wine and peanut production among others, but cotton is king.  About 25% of the world's cotton is grown in this region.

South Plains College is a top tier junior college with excellent academics, fine arts, sports and workforce training.  South Plains College is Levelland's largest employer and a major community partner.

Community pride is evidenced throughout the city's parks and its thriving Main Street downtown square. An accredited Texas Main Street since 1998, Levelland Main Street works to preserve the historic character of the square while helping downtown evolve into a vibrant marketplace featuring local businesses, entertainment venues, and attractions for visitors.

Incentives are available for those interested in opening a business and investing in historic property. Availability is updated here, but please contact Main Street Manager Tania Moody for more information.
