The courthouse square is both a local historic district and National Register historic district, the latter offers the opportunity for use of both the state and federal historic tax incentive programs. Additionally, the Main Street program offers paint and sign grants while the EDC provides a series of local incentives to support small businesses including a revolving loan program and tax abatement.
