Historic name: Brookshire Grocery (built 1930)

About This Property

Tom and Dixie Brookshire operated a highly-successful grocery store here until 1939.  They sold out to Kingsville Super Market.  Tom Brookshire was elected county judge.  Levine’s Department store occupied this building in the 1960’s and 1970s.  In later years South Texas Western Store would provide the community with fashionable western clothing.
