This building is relatively new, being built in the 1940s.  Old timers tell of how you could look between the buildings here to see the carnival located on the other side of the block on Yoakum Avenue.  That carnival delighted Kingsvillians for years and a rousing game of Mexican style bingo was played regularly.  Curtis Mathes Home Entertainment Center was at this location for a number of years.
