In the early years of Kingsville this location had a small wood frame building. Home to Walter Swindosky’s art studio.  There was a large skylight which Mr. Swindosky used to take photographs in natural light.  In 1912 Mr. Swindosky took a lot of area pictures which were used for postcards to promote Kingsville.  The photo shop was still there in 1922.  By 1930 the current building had been built with shops at numbers 301, 303 and 305.  The building is a brick and stucco structure with a fore wall between numbers 301 and 303.  It was home to D.L. Edwards and Son Grocers at 301 and Cage Hardware and Implement Company at 305-307.  Later in 1950 Luis and Manuela Fuentes opened the first Hispanic owned business on Kleberg Avenue.  It was a very popular department store called El Nuevo Mundo. Take a look to the south as you cross 7th street.  You will see a lovely mural celebrating Kingsville past and present.  You will also see a number of small shops.  These shops are housed in a 1930s vintage building which once was an automobile repair and spray painting business with an office and storage room in number 108.  Today it is home to several interesting businesses: 108 South 7th-Bella Imajen Hair Salon, 110 South 7th-Gracie’s Clips and Fades, 112 South 7th –Kingsville Shoe Repair and Custom Homemade Boots, 114 South 7th- King Printing
