The building at number 225 is actually two buildings that have been joined together to form a larger double bay building.  From 1915 until sometime in the 1930s the east side was the De Mauri Bakery and later the Kingsville Bakery.  In the 1930s the Piggly Wiggly grocery store was in this building.  The ads for the Piggly Wiggly in the Kingsville Record, “ Piggly Wiggly- owned and operated by H.E. Butt Grocery Company- a Texas institution.” It was later known as H.E.B. and moved to Eighth and Kleberg in the 1950s.  Winn’s Five and Dime occupied this location for a number of years.  El Zarape Mini Mall was located here for a while.
