About This Property

Construction of the building for the First State Bank was completed in 1910.  This served as the headquarters for a group of banks under the title of First State Bank.  Mahogany paneling, brass trim and brass tellers’ cages gave the bank a very elegant look.  October of 1931 saw this bank close due to the failure of the parent bank.  Local account holders got together to reorganize and re-open the bank in December of 1931 as the State Bank of Kingsville.  In 1957 the dark brick façade was added and the building was completely remolded.  In 1960 the bank moved to Seventh and King Avenue into a new structure providing more space.  Boyd’s Jewelry was located here for a while. 

Linda's Cafe & Bakery had been housed here.  Ol' Girls Kitchen had occupied building; however, closed Feb. 14, 2025.  Building is now vacant.
