Begun by the Women's Club in 1909, Kingsville's Public Library was moved to the building on the north in 1927.  B.E Giesecke and A. W. Harris of Austin designed the Spanish Colonial Revival structure.  It was located on land donated from the Henrietta M King Estate by Robert J Kleberg, the prominent area cattleman for whom it was named.  The public library was located here for 30 years.  The building on the south is Clement Hall named after Ida Clement, daughter of Henrietta Rosa Kleberg and wife of a long-time manager of the King Ranch, James Clement. Mrs. Clement helped start and build Ephiphany Episcopal School which currently owns both buildings.
