Greenville is located in Hunt County and is about 50 miles northeast of Dallas. It is the county seat and largest city in Hunt County. It is a community rich in heritage and culture. With the new highway systems and connections are being planned for the continuing explosion of development in the North Texas Region, it's positioned for growth.
The City of Greenville was founded in 1846. Known for its rich soil, Greenville eventually became the "cotton capital of the world." Cotton brought the railroads to Greenville and with them growth and prosperity. The population grew to several thousands and the town became a rail hub with six railways.
Today Greenville’s strategic location and economic offerings are attractive to diverse businesses wanting to take advantage of being in the growing and vibrant North Texas Region. Greenville’s historic downtown is the hub to an emerging arts district, a variety of restaurants, an award-winning winery, multiple entertainment venues, new urban lofts, and beautiful historic buildings.
