Initially this building included a multi-use store providing Hardware/D.M. Jackson/Furniture & Coffins around the 1920's.  The next business was Darby and Dorough Department Store with an entrance on the left which had fashionably dressed mannequins standing in the big glass display windows and later changed to Darby Dry Goods Co. then changed its name to Darby Department Store.
The second entrance held Lee's Man Shop which later became Kirby Bailey Appliances/Plumbing which was then followed by Bailey Appliance and Furniture operations.
Later, the two doors were removed and replaced with only one entrance and was home to Grand Saline Sun.  Printing was done in the rear of the building and offices and the writers were in the front.
