Originally this building appeared more ornate and was owned by a banker, Mr. Andrews.  This was the first location of City Food Store.  The white metal slipcover was added in the 1950's thus hiding the distinctive characteristics.  The Jarvis Dry Goods Company from around the late 1940's or early 1950's through 1975.  
This building houses a mezzanine (upper story open to the floor below).  Local townspeople who recall this time report that, Mr. Jarvis, the owner, a dapper, outgoing gentleman always dressed in a three-pieced suit with a big diamond stick pin in his tie and had a flamboyant manner. 
Following this, the Masterson Roofing business occupied the building for several years.
