This small depot, built in 1872, was the original freight depot for the H. & T. C. line. The building was renovated 1999-2002 and has the original board and batten construction. It is the oldest building downtown. It is the oldest building downtown. It now serves as the Chamber of Commerce building for the City of Elgin.
