These lots were the site of a fire in October 2019 that saw the destruction of 317, 319 and 321 W. Main. In August of 2023, the City of Denison held the Denison Rising Groundbreaking Ceremony to celebrate the resilience of our community and to display current plans for construction of new retail space, lofts, and a Visitor's Center in the coming years. The art piece titled "Flight" by Casni Studios positioned in front of the lots depicts a phoenix with its wings spread, symbolizing our downtown community rising from the ashes of the fire and moving forward.
