The building, originally built in approximately 1850, has served many purposes in its long life. Before it was home to Lissa's Restyled Sip & Shop, it was a bar with a package shop in the front corner, according to its current owner. Visitors could grab a bite to eat from the back of the building.

When it was purchased by its current owners in 2016, they completely rehabilitated the structure by removing damaged plaster, rebuilt the façade and restored the front windows and framing, poured new concrete and built out the kitchen, office and restrooms, and opened up access to the green space next door.
