About This Property

Jim C. Burrows established the Burrows Hardware Co. in 1893 at the Opera House, 100 S. Washington Street. He later moved Burrows to the Masonic Lodge before settling at 323, 325, 327 N. Washington Street. The Burrows Hardware Co was the first in South Texas to provide an air conditioned store. Burrows sold hardware, appliances, clothing, toys, and more.
