The 11-story Hotel Beaumont was designed in 1922 by Mann & Stern of Little Rock, Ar. The Italianate style structure was built through a partnership of 277 investors who planned on building the grandest hotel in Beaumont. The initial cost was $1,000,000. The building features a double height lobby, 250 hotel rooms, a "sky-room" penthouse and a ballroom. Hotel Beaumont became the social and cultural center of the city, actually sharing a tunnel to the adjacent Jefferson theater for visiting performers. It was recently purchased and may soon return to its glory days.
