P.O. Elzner arrived in Bastrop in 1858. He became a civic leader in the community. In 1890, he built this home with its Carpenter Gothic features, including the small front porch and gingerbread detailing. Here, dry goods were unloaded from ferries on the river for his store on the corner of Main and Spring Streets. Over the years, there has been a blending of several additions to the original structure.

One Story Frame "L" Shape in plan with curved attached front portico, 5 large bays closing to R-small bays, turned cols. with delicate valance detailing surmounted by dental (something) and small mansard roof, central door, gym. 2/2 windows with semi (something) and one chimney.
