From Texas Historic Sites Atlas (Marker Medallion and Plate, Atlas Number 5021009150, Marker Number 9150, Marker Year 1965, Recorded as Texas Landmark.
Founded before 1857.  Members first met in courthouse, and then in rock church built on this site in 1867.  This New England Victorian Building, erected in 1895, has the old rock church's bell, which ws used on a Colorado River steamboat.

From Historic Survey notes from 1970 (informant was Hilda Sapp and Nell Herndon) see below:

Congregation formed in 1857, small rock church was built on the site in 1867.  Bell currently used was in original church.  Present Building is a one-Story Framed Victorian Church of Latin cross Plan with Spired Corner tower.  Tall narrow stained glass window.
