The historic Potter county Courthouse was built from 1930-1932. This is the third Potter County Courthouse and the second built at this address. The courthouse is a beautiful example of the Moderne architectural style. The buffalo hunter and Native American sculpture relief depictions on the top of the tower reference the history of the Texas Panhandle. Plaques above the doorway show longhorn cattle and tribute pioneers. These details also set our courthouses of East Texas. At one time, the Potter County Jail was on the 5th floor of the main tower. In 2013, building was restored through a grant from the Texas Historical Commission.
